This cloth doll is used in therapeutic work with children experiencing grief and loss. As part of the therapeutic process, the counsellor or mental health worker can assist the child to adorn the doll with different objects such as buttons, ribbons, swatches of material etc. that has significant meaning and value to the child in relation to the deceased significant person in the child's life.
The doll then serves as a comforting reminder to the child of the deceased person – having a memory of the deceased person close by and using the doll as source of comfort and self-nurturance whilst still being in control of their interaction with the doll.
